A more usable but yet elegant hanky made of plain white linen. The hem is what makes this hanky special as it is finished in a double row of threadwork and then edged with an inch of tatted lace. The hanky has been used and has a tiny speck of what looks like blood (probably from the maker) at the very center (see last photo). It is 12 inches square including the lace.
This hanky is not snow white but more ivory. I don't know if this is from age or if it was make of ivory linen. I have not laundered this hanky to see if it whitens.
